How Does Sublimation Work?

Here’s the fun part: the process!

Design It: First, you create your design on a computer. This could be anything from a logo, an image, a quote, or even a combination of the three. It’s basically a digital masterpiece waiting to happen.

Print It: The design gets printed onto special sublimation paper with sublimation ink. This ink is different from regular printer ink because it’s made to turn into gas when heated (don’t worry, it’s not as complicated as it sounds).

Transfer It: Now comes the cool part: the sublimation paper is placed on a special polyester or polymer-coated blank (like a plastic badge), and the magic happens. The paper and the badge are put into a heat press, which applies heat and pressure. This turns the ink into gas, and the gas embeds the design directly into the material of the badge. It’s like turning paper art into permanent, vibrant magic.

Final Product: After a bit of cooling down, you’re left with a shiny, professional-looking badge that feels smooth to the touch and has a design that’s almost impossible to scratch or peel off.
